V.o.f. overBurght, a collaboration involving Stam + De Koning and Adriaans Bouwgroep, is developing the plan overBurght in Geldrop. The name of the project has been derived from the Geldrop castle that defined the reputation of the village during the 14th century. The eye-catcher of overBurght is the Pearl, the central building block with style, charisma and a central court. On top of that, the Pearl is surrounded by a classic canal.
"In spite of the 11 canal houses, the 99 apartments in the plan got most of the attention." says Marloes Van Rooij, Real Estate Developer at Stam + De Koning. "The three storey houses each have a private parking facility in the central basement and a void on the first floor. Many people have difficulties understanding the organisation and resulting spatial quality. The Virtual Scale Model was capable of doing that."
Additionally, a series of impressions and an animation movie were created using the Virtual Scale Model. On top of that, the Virtual Scale Model can be explored in stereoscopic 3D at the brokers agencies. "We hope this brings the canal houses the attention they deserve."
