Location: Sneek, Nederland
Completed: November 2009
The project Boschplein is part of the urban renewal plan Portal of Sneek and consists of a parking basement, two supermarkets, several commercial spaces and eighty five appartments. The Virtual Scale Model has been used for both internal communication with stakeholders and communication towards local inhabitants.
"Because the project is located inbetween existing buildings it involves local inhabitants. It is crucial to inform these people about the construction plans", says Max Huizinga, Real Estate Developer at BAM Vastgoed Wonen. "The Virtual Scale Model is capable of making the plan comprehensible, even for laymen."
"The Virtual Scale Model offers stakeholders a better understanding of the project to be realised", says Fokke Huisman de Jong, Coördinator Urban Renewal at the municipality of Sneek. "Next to that, the Virtual Scale Model is more flexible towards developers than other visualisation instruments because it can be quickly adjusted and extended. Because we consulted 3D capacity a number of times, the Virtual Scale Model now offers a very complete view on the plans."
"Because of the model, we were able to make some adjustments to the plan.", Huizinga continues. "The Virtual Scale Model lives up to our expectations and we will certainly use it for the future marketing of the second part of the plan."
