2010.05.26 - We have a winner!

The prestigious project Koopgoot II, designed by OMA, submitted by Multi Vastgoed, was chosen as the winner of the Virtual Scale Model Contest. During the festive prize event, the the project was unanimously chosen by the jury as most suitable for elaboration by 3D capacity.

Multi Vastgoed receives a Virtual Scale Model that will be created with the latest features. Additionally, 3D capacity will submit this winning entry to international 3D contest. In the past years, the company was awarded for the Virtual Scale Models of the spa complex Therme Vals by Peter Zumthor and the Moebius House by UNStudio.

2010.05.11 - Nominees defined

From the large amount of submissions, the jury has nominated five projects. In order of the images below: Strijp S (Trudo & DNC), Koopgoot II (Multi Vastgoed), Stadhuis Almelo (Meyer & van Schooten Architecten), Dance Palace (UNStudio), IJdock (ASR Vastgoed).

2010.05.01 - Submission closed

Last friday April 30 was the closing date for our Virtual Scale Model contest. We are happy to announce that no less than 54 projects were submitted. In the upcoming week, the jury will nominate five projects. On May 25 the winner will be announced during the award ceremony. Please visit this page for more updates!

Are you a winner?

In 2009, two 3D capacity projects were nominated for the best interactive 3D presentation in several international competitions. The entries were Virtual Scale Model applications of remarkable architectural buildings like the Moebius House designed by UNStudio. The Virtual Scale Model of the spa complex Therme Vals by the Swiss Architect Peter Zumthor was awarded the Quest3D Award 2009.

This year, we want to create a Virtual Scale Model of your project to enter several international 3D contests. If your project is selected, we will elaborate it for free using the latest features. To participate, you can contact Sacha Buck or Caspar Nuijten. We will plan a meeting to further define the project.

Your entry should be in on friday April 30th, 2010.

On the right you can find the criteria which your entry should meet to win this spectacular visualisation. The jury will nominate five project from all entries. The winner will be announced during a festive award ceremony.

Your project meets the following criteria:

  • The participant is active in the field of real estate, for example project developers, housing corporations, architectural offices, engineering companies and municipalities.
  • Your project is an architecural development. This can be a building, residential area, centre plan, railway area, urban development or an other related development.
  • The development is in preliminary or final draft at entry.
  • The drawings of the plan should be entered before May 31th, 2010.

The jury will consider:

  • Building(s): The subject should have an architectural quality (form, material, light).
  • Routing: The subject should have an interesting sequence (routing, discovery, structure).
  • Surroundings: The subject should have an interesting relation with its surroundings.
  • Interaction: The subject should offer possibilities for interaction.

Henri Achten

Henri Achten is Assistant Professor CAAD at the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning of the TU Eindhoven and Associate Professor CAAD at the Architecture Faculty of the CVUT in Prague. In 1992, he was the first student to use Virtual Reality for the presentation of his graduation work. He is teaching and researching CAAD in the design process. From 2005-2009, he has been president of the Association for Education and Research in CAAD in Europe (eCAADe), and vice-president of this organisation in the four years before.

Edwin Oostmeijer

Edwin Oostmeijer

Edwin Oostmeijer was educated as a reporter and now operates as independent project developer on remarkable residential projects. In 2006 he was awarded the Golden Pyramid, the state prize for inspirational building clients for residential project 'Het Bolwerk' in Utrecht. He is president of the Utrecht Day of Architecture and member of the board of the Europan Foundation.

Maarten Groeneveld

Maarten Groeneveld

Maarten Groeneveld has been operating as an Architect for 25 years and is one of the directors of Just Achitects. He has gained experience on utilitarian, residential and medical architecture in several national and international offices.

Roy Netten

Roy Netten is regularly involved in real estate projects as a Marketing- & Communication Strategist. He is founder of NAAM en FAAM: a no-nonsense, allround marketing consultancy office creating effective communication concepts that are in turn elaborated in his own graphical studio. Real Estate communication has grown to become his main discipline.
